New bat houses in Fort Wayne

From Staff Reports

Fort Wayne has gone a bit batty with the help from students.

Senior Ethel Taylor, with help from the CLHS service club and various other helpers, created six bat houses to distribute around Fort Wayne, including in Concordia’s Our Creator’s Classroom.

“Over the course of two months, we bought and cut the wood, painted it and then assembled the bat houses,” she said.

Two of the houses are located in Fort Wayne’s parks as a bat sanctuary. The other three went to Camp Lutherhaven.

“This project was for my gold award in girl scouts which is the highest award a Girl Scout can get,” Taylor said.
